Not just a recording! It's Information!

Indexing or providing video cues for Council meetings might seem like a small gesture for transparency—but if you’ve ever tried to find just one specific discussion in a 90-minute or two-hour meeting, you know how frustrating it can be.

By indexing the meeting video, you can skip the mundane or irrelevant and jump straight to what matters to you—when you want, how you want.

As a Council Member, I made this happen. Within 48–72 hours of a meeting being posted online, I would follow the meeting agenda and add video cues so you could pick and choose what to watch. This way, you can see and hear for yourself the actions taken by your public servants. I believe that giving citizens this direct access makes a real difference in how we make decisions as a community.

Here’s one example of how indexing—or adding video cues—made Council meetings more transparent. I did this throughout my term, making it easier for residents to find and watch the specific discussions they cared about without having to scroll through an entire meeting.

I posted these indexed videos on my Facebook page, which I updated daily (or as needed) to ensure the public had timely access to important information and decisions affecting our community.
